Vision and Purpose
Introduction
What we mean by these terms:
- The Vision is the motivation for the group. A Vision can be vague and unachievable, but it has to be clear enough and achievable enough to motivate people, and it has to be something everybody is happy to sign up to. Ideally, it will be an idea they bring with them, something which motivates them to join the group.
- The Purpose is the reason why the group exists, describing what we do in pursuit of the Vision.
The Vision and Purpose together unite the people: they say why we are here and what we do.
Detail
Our vision is to see all people united in working together for a better world.
Our purpose is to make use of the wisdom of the group to lean how we can act as individuals and in groups to build a better world, learning from as diverse a range of people as possible, so we can gain from their experience and expertise, and so we can discover and adjust for our personal and corporate blindspots.
